cinnamon rolls… in a glass *kid friendly recipe

A deliciously healthy treat! High in fibre, protein and magnesium. The secret ingredients being dates and macadamia nuts. Dates are essential for a healthy colon and restore balance within the gut due to them being both a soluble and insoluble fibre. High in magnesium which reduces inflammation in the body and so powerful its said that they’re helpful in combating arthritis and Alzheimer’s disease. A HUGE thumbs up for these little wrinkly fruits 😉

This recipe is:

  • Dairy-free
  • Vegan
  • High in fibre
  • High in protein
  • High in magnesium
  • Perfect for kids

INGREDIENTS:

75g pitted dates

125ml water

2 gala apples

125ml almond milk

1 tbsp finely chopped macadamia nuts

1 tbsp ground flaxseed

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/4 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp lucuma powder


METHOD:

Add dates and water to pan and bring to boil, stir frequently and reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes and until a paste forms. Remove from heat and leave to cool.

Juice the apples and then add all ingredients to blender (including date paste and juiced apples) and blend with a handful of ice.

Sprinkle extra cinnamon over smoothie and enjoy!
