Don’t you love emotional rollercoasters? As much as they can be draining, they also open you up to accepting parts of yourself that maybe in the past you thought were faults. I love emotional rollercoasters, they send me away for a few days, to a place where I feel a little crazy, a little unstable, reminding me that I’m alive and part of this physical, very emotionally driven world. Then once that’s over, I reflect and realise how much just those few days of craziness help me evolve. I think the hardest part of an emotional rollercoaster is the fear of expressing what’s truly going on in the heart, right?
We fear what others might think of us, how they might react, if their reactions are even true and real? There are so many false humans in this reality, but not because they chose that path, it’s because they are still asleep. They haven’t found themselves yet and its your job to guide them. Guide people with your voice, guide people with your love, express your pain, your fears and this will help people through theirs.
My throat chakra used to be so blocked that I’d literally have the worst sinus issues, I battled with my sinuses every single day for years. Fear isn’t even the right word to describe how I felt when it was my time for confrontation and dealing with matters of the heart. I figured the only reason I couldn’t express, was because I didn’t know how to verbalise what my heart was feeling, my heart and head always clashing. And this went away with the death of my ego last year. When we become awakened, we see things as they are, we see the Truth of things. When the ego suffers a death, the mind remains present allowing the heart to take over with guidance from spirit (intuition). Only then are we able to speak freely.
Something else that paralysed me with fear was even the idea of public speaking. Now a huge part of my business is to create awareness of how to live consciously and this is through standing up and verbally expressing this idea of life to people who are ready to receive the information.
Blue in colour (my favourite colour), this chakra is the home of your voice, the center of your communication, and the keeper of your authenticity. Speaking and living your truth is healing for this chakra, as are blue foods, particularly blueberries, which encourage expression. Fruits work to balance this chakra, especially fruit that grows on trees like apples, pears, peaches, apricots, and plums, as they are said to be true to themselves, falling off the tree when they are ripe and ready and requiring little to no work in order to be enjoyed.
If this chakra is out of balance, it will physically manifest as the following symptoms: Throat lump, laryngitis, sore throat, tonsillitis, teeth problems, thrush, jaw problems (tmj), earache, ear problems, sinus infections, thyroid problems, arthritis in shoulders, sore shoulders or arms, neck problems, stress – may also exhibit an alcohol or drug dependency.
What to eat to activate and balance this chakra:
- Herbs / spices – coltsfoot, peppermint, red clover blossoms, sage, salt, lemon grass
- Tart or tangy fruits / tree growing fruits: lemons, limes, grapefruit, kiwi / apples, pears, plums, peaches, apricots, etc
- Blue foods such as blueberries
- Liquids in general: water, fruit juices, herbal teas (especially chamomile and red clover), sea plants, foods with high water content, soups and healthy sauces
Speak your truth. Always. Allow yourself to speak openly and freely, we do this when the heart chakra is in balance and in alignment to the other chakras. We find that we are able to speak with love no matter the situation.
