How to Balance your Crown Chakra

The crown chakra is our direct link to the Divine. The Universe. This energy centre is probably the most important one of them all.

The throat, 3rd eye and crown chakras are our spiritual centres, connecting us to spirit. The root, sacral and solar plexus are the chakras that ground us to the earth and help us perceive our reality in the best way we possibly can. Our heart chakra is the one that connects earth (first 3 chakra) to spirit (last 3 chakras), our heart opening us into this reality and allowing us to connect with other beings, and also helping us connect more deeply to ourselves.

When in meditation, focus on breathing in a bright white / luminous purple light, coming in through the top of your head and flowing gently down through the rest of your body, melting into all organs, feeding you with energy and clarity, grounding you to the earth.

This chakra doesn’t really need food to balance, it needs spirit, light, love.

If your crown chakra is out of balance (over or under active), you may experience these physical and emotional problems:

  • Loneliness
  • Isolation
  • Lack of direction
  • Inability to connect with others
  • Disconnect spiritually
  • Inability to set or maintain goals

Physical symptoms include:

  • Nerve pain
  • Neurological disorders
  • Insomnia
  • Thyroid disorders
  • Alzheimerโ€™s
  • Pineal gland disorders
  • Recurring headaches, migraines
  • Depression
  • Schizophrenia and delusional disorders

I’ve come to realise that although we can focus on balancing our chakras (especially the first 4) with food and nutrition, its important to remain conscious of everything we do. These energy centres are responsible for energy coming into our physical bodies, as well as energy and perception leaving the body. It’s important to focus on things like meditation, yoga (or any physical activity that makes you feel really good about yourself), nutrition, especially the colours for each chakra. After these last few weeks of following this journey, you’ll be more aware of the colours of foods and which chakra they restore balance to.

Another major contributor, be conscious and aware of your thoughts and your emotional state. If you feel you often get anxious, depressed, or are very stressed for example, it could very well be a good combination of your crown and heart chakras being out of balance, your mind being too noisy, your thyroid and adrenal glands experiencing a bit of an imbalance. It all works and functions together, as one machine, one entity.

Everything in our minds, our bodies and the outer world is very beautifully interconnected. We must learn to listen to the spaces between the noise. Learn to calm to mind, focus on the body, focus on all aspects of our lives and in turn, we will be able to restore balance to all of our chakras which in turn helps balance the rest of the universe and the way people and situations around us, respond to us.

I hope these last few weeks (which turned into months, as the universe naturally intended) have been informative and have helped you to somewhat connect deeply to yourself. I’ve been so inspired to design new eating plans which will be focused on and working on restoring all-round balance to all aspects of your life and body. I’ll be working on these over the next few weeks and I’m honestly so excited to share it with you all.
