I know it seems like I’ve been going a bit crazy with my green smoothies lately, but that’s because, well. I have! There are just so many wonderful variations to smoothies and especially with the green ones. I love adding superfood powders and nut butters to these to give them extra nutrient power and this one is specifically amazing for unblocking and cleansing the liver.
Our liver does a lot of work for us, its our major fat-burning organ and if the liver isn’t functioning properly, it messes with our digestion and metabolism which can make weight-loss, weight maintenance and all-round health almost impossible. Drinking alcohol and caffeine, eating refined sugars, processed carbs, hormone-filled and badly treated meats and living a stressful lifestyle can all lead to major liver problems.
Give yourself time to rest, give your body time to heal itself, because that’s what it’s designed to do. When you feed yourself with the correct nutrients, don’t worry about the rest, allow your body to do the work and trust that your body knows how. Once you begin to trust in your body’s ability, magic begins to happen and you’ll see and feel some beautiful changes. Trust the process.

250mls Coconut milk
Handful baby spinach
1 tsp Maca powder (‘The Incan warrior power food’- A highly intelligent plant that adapts to the needs of your hormone, energy and immune system)
1 tsp raw nut butter
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
Whizz all ingredients in a high-powered blender and serve chilled
